Quebec adoption tax credit boasts generous provisions
BY ROBIN HILBORN, Family Helper editor | ||||||||||||||||||||
(Feb. 22, 2005) Quebec's Adoption Tax Credit allows adopters to deduct 30% of adoption expenses for adoptions completed starting in 2001. Maximum expenses allowed are $20,000, giving a maximum credit of $6,000. (The rate in 2000 was 25% on a maximum of $15,000 in expenses.) Quebec adopters claim their tax credit on their provincial income tax form, and get the credit from the provincial government.
